Anatomy
Three of the four quad heads originate from the femur; the rectus femoris originates from the pelvis. All four converge at the patella tendon and insert on the tibia. The rectus femoris also crosses the hip joint, making it involved in hip flexion.

Training Tips
- Squats are essential for complete quad development — no machine fully replicates them.
- Leg extensions have their place as isolation work but should not replace compound movements.
- Controlling the descent in squats and leg presses produces more quad stimulus.
