How the split finder works

The finder scores five proven training splits — full body, upper/lower, push/pull/legs, the bro split and the Arnold split — against your answers. Your number of training days has the biggest effect, followed by experience and goal; session length, equipment, preference and recovery then adjust the ranking.

Every recommendation comes with the reasons behind it and any cautions, so you can see why a split ranks where it does. The rules are published on our workout split methodology page.

What you get

Prefer to read first?

Our guide to the best workout split explains how to choose, and the workout splits hub compares every option side by side. If you already know your schedule, jump to the 3-day, 4-day or 5-day split pages.

The finder gives general starting points, not personal coaching or medical advice.
